The Vocational Promotion and Guidance Branch, operating under the Western Thrace
Minority University Graduates Association, held a Dentistry Department Introduction for
high school students on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Our region’s first female dentist, Ms. Aise Gkalip, participated as a guest speaker.
Sharing her professional experiences with the students, Aise Gkalip offered valuable advice to
students considering the profession of dentistry.
Speaking about the stages of education, she noted that students begin seeing patients
as early as fourth grade. Referring to the challenges of the profession, our guest said, “Seeing
the happiness on your patients’ faces at the end of treatment makes you forget all the
hardships.” Our speaker, who stated that “loving your job and working with a good technician
are crucial to your success,” also provided information about the subspecialties of dentistry.
Finally, she advised students to consider the achievements of the faculty and academic
staff when choosing a university. The talk concluded with questions from students and candid
answers from Aise Gkalip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
