The Vocational Promotion and Guidance Branch of the Western Thrace Minority University
Graduates Association organized a “Chemistry Department Introduction Event” for students
on Friday, December 12th. Mr. Latif Ramadanoglu, a graduate of the Chemistry Department,
participated as a speaker. The event covered the fundamental fields of study in chemistry, the
curriculum of chemistry departments at universities, and post-graduation career opportunities.
The introduction emphasized that chemistry is a scientific discipline. Students were given
information about the course content. It was also stated that laboratory work is an important
part of the department. It was noted that chemistry graduates have wide job opportunities. The
opportunities for academic careers and working in research laboratories were also highlighted
as factors making the chemistry department attractive. The event concluded after answering
participants’ questions.
