The WTMUGA Women’s Branch Organized a Cultural Tour to Plovdiv.

The WTMUGA Women’s Branch organized a cultural tour to Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s 2019
Capital of Culture, on June 14-15, 2025. The tour began with a visit to the Turkish Consul
General in Plovdiv, Mr. Korhan KUNGERU, at his office on Saturday, June 14. Present at the
visit were WTMUGA Women’s Branch President Sevtap HINT, Women’s Branch Secretary
General Doga KASAP, WTMUGA Board Members Sukriye MEMET and Zeynep
TEFIKOGLU, and WTMUGA Miracle Theater Manager Senemahu TOPUZ. The visit, which
took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, was provided by Consul General Korhan
KUNGERU, who provided information about the city and its history. Following this, a tour
led by Sevtap HINT, President of the WTMUGA Women’s Branch, and with contributions
from Board Members Doga KASAP, Nese AHMET, Zeynep KARAHOCA, Zuleyha
AHMET, and Hedef MUSTAFAOGLU, included guided visits to the Ethnography Museum,
Djumaya (Cumaya) Square and Mosque, the Old City of Plovdiv, the Roman Theatre of
Plovdiv, the Kapana District, Char Simeon Park, the Roman Forum of Plovdiv, Hisar Kapi,
Nebet Hill, and the Sahabettin Imaret Mosque. The women enjoyed two full and enjoyable
days, befitting a Capital of Culture. The trip concluded with the women’s hopes and wishes to
gather together in future events.
