As the Board of Directors of the Young Academicians Community (YAC), we paid courtesy
visits to the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini, Mr. Aykut Ünal; the
Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Elected Mufti of
Xanthi, Mr. Moustafa Trampa; the Elected Mufti of Komotini, Mr. Imprachim Serif; the
President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party, Ms. Tsidem Asafoglou; the President of the
Komotini Turkish Youth Union, Mr. Sedat Chasan; the President of the Xanthi Turkish
Union, Mr. Kerem Ampdourrahimoglou; and the former President of the Western Thrace
Minority University Graduates Association, Mr. Chousein Mpaltatzi.
We were greatly pleased to meet with representatives of our community’s long-established
and valuable institutions, to exchange ideas, and to share our common values.
