WESTERN THRACE MINORITY UNIVERSITY GRADUATES ASSOCIATION PRESENTED THE “DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS”

The Vocational Promotion and Guidance Branch, operating under the Western Thrace
Minority University Graduates Association, organized an “Economics Department Promotion
Event” for students on Friday, November 21st.
Mr. Ilchan Impram and Mr. Onour Moustafa Achmet, who attended as speakers at the event
and experts in the field, provided information about economics education and gave an
engaging presentation about the department’s extensive career opportunities and their own
experiences.
Highlights of the event included:

  • Employment opportunities for economics graduates in various fields, including banking,
    commerce, and the public and private sectors.
  • The importance of presentation, public speaking, and communication skills, in addition to
    courses such as micro and macroeconomics, mathematics, marketing, and finance taken
    within the department.
  • The critical role of building good relationships with people in a career.
  • A master’s degree is not mandatory but can be chosen depending on your goals.
  • The importance of keeping up with economics and the business world.
  • The importance of being active in various clubs and social activities throughout your
    education.
    It was also stated that knowing the course system and exam procedures will greatly facilitate
    the transition to university life. Speakers emphasized that numerous internships helped them
    explore their fields and significantly eased the transition to the workforce.
    The event helped students both gain detailed information about their departments and gain
    new perspectives on career planning.
